THE DILEMMA: FAMILY DRAMA, SECRETS AND LIES.
.
Mixing it up, Paris’ latest novel isn’t the usual thriller you’d expect, however she has delivered with yet another gripping and emotive book.
.
With the entire book taking place over the course of one evening, the chapters alternate between Adam and Livia, a misguided couple who are desperate to please one another but face many decisions on how to do so. .
The premise and the writing style makes it a pacey read and with extracts that jump back in time to fill in the gaps, it’s easily a book you can be pulled into emotionally. Whilst it is not as ‘eventful’ as some of Paris’ previous books, the tension is transferred from writing to reader, coaxing you in and making it a story that is easy to become invested in.
.
Claustrophobic and irritating at times, the characters are both wonderful and frustrating. They are well written to show the complexity of the human mind and this works well alongside the storyline to show how life’s events can create many ‘dilemmas’. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
